I'm Kasey.
A New York based actor and award-winning filmmaker. All of my work begins with an incurable and undying curiosity in our stories as people.
Plus a little bit of magic.

artist bio
(TL;DR: a theatre kid grew up to be a film boss and really likes mountains)
My body of work reads like an ode to multi-hyphenate-ism. An early pull towards the creative path began in the mildewy wings of a modest, bucolic community theatre in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. That winding path out of the forest has kept me treading stage planks from west to east, and encountering fascinating characters both onstage and in the thousand odd jobs that artists keep.
Somewhere in the cyclone of working for florists, winemakers, and musicians, I co-created two theatre companies, learned to produce, and ventured to write. My time at The New School taught me to translate my passion & skill for theatre into filmmaking, granting me a Master of Fine Arts in the process. I’ve since thrown myself into hands-on learning on indie film sets, working as a director, producer, camera operator, post producer, and AD. My awesome day job involves supporting master’s film students at NYU Tisch’s Martin Scorsese Center for Virtual Production in Industry City, Brooklyn.
Festival screenings include: Cleveland International Film Festival, Tacoma Film Festival, MINT Film Festival, QFest St. Louis, Montreal Independent Film Fest(award winner “Best LGBTQ”), Toronto Intl Women Film Festival(award winner “Best LGBTQ”), and Portland Short Fest(award winner “Best Actor”).
Current projects include the latest season with The Garret Theatre Company (founding member, based in Astoria, Queens), a documentary centering on a senior living with developmental disability (director), and a feature film centered around climate crisis (co-creator & director, in development).
I am from the Pacific Northwest (grew up in Idaho, Montana, & Oregon) and spent many years in Chicago before I moved to New York. As the daughter of a forester, I absolutely love spending time outdoors. Yes, I can build you a fire.
I have practiced yoga for 15+ years, I'm a certified Reiki practitioner, and an herbal medicine enthusiast. After many years in the restaurant industry, I have specialized knowledge in wine & spirits. In my inspired spare time I paint, take photographs, and write poems. If I weren't an actor I'd probably be a journalist.
Queer since forever. Amateur adventurer who dreams of climbing mountains. If you ask what my favorite movie is, I'll tell you Apocalypse Now but it's really Grease.
